He was predeceased by: his parents, John Melnick and Bronislawa Melnick; his sister Anne; his wife Irene (Siwak); his daughter Caroline; and his son-in-law Herb Black.

He is survived by: his daughters, Stephanie Black, Anna Munro (Pat), Elaine Conrad (Art) and Mary Melnick; his grandchildren, Michael Black (Elisha), Krystyna Black (Nick), Dr. Allana Munro (Greg), Patrick Munro (Jennifer), Dr. Jillian Munro-Easson (Will), Dr. Shayla Conrad-Calow (Dan), Sara Telfer (Dave) and Brittney Melnick; and his great grandchildren, Ainslee, Lauchie, Ethan, Aylee, Thomas and Hannah.

Donations in memory of Steve may be made to St. Mary's Polish Parish Building Fund.
