She was predeceased by: her parents, John Long and Catherine Long (Young); her husband James Johnstone; her son Roy Johnstone; her great grandchild Riley Young; her siblings, Arthur Long, Roy Long, John Long, Wallace Long and Shirley Postlewaite; and her sisters-in-law, Mima Johnstone, Glennice Sheppard and Faye MacNeil.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Vanessa, Gary, Candice, Timothy, Justin, Holly, Jessica and Jordan; and her siblings, Lloyd Long, Robert Long, Kenneth Long, Leo Long, Ollie Hubert, Joyce Cote, Leona MacNeil and Colleen Sampson. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Pier Community Funeral Home, All Faith Chapel (1092 Victoria Rd, Sydney, NS B1N 1L1).
Memorial donations in Memory of Rose may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
