He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jim" MacNeil and Annie Jane MacNeil (MacKenzie); and his siblings, Claire, John, James and Louis.

He is survived by: his siblings, Mary MacIntyre, Grand Mira South, Monica Turansky of Whitby, ON, Anne Marie MacArthur (Leonard) of Codroy Valley, NL, Shirley Snow, Barbara Niedan of Brampton, ON, Margaret "Maggie" Penasse of Edmonton, AB, David MacNeil (Warna), Whitney Pier, Roddie MacNeil (Lena) and Sydney.

Memorials may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
