He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Abenheimer and Irene Abenheimer (Thorburn); his brother Henry Anderson; his siblings-in-law, Joyce, Cathy Connelly and Jock Adams; and his parents-in-law, Kathleen Igoe and John Martin Igoe.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Abenheimer (Igoe); his children, Sarah Groves (Jacen) of Fredericton, NB, Andrew (Hanwool Kim) of Ottawa, ON, Rebecca Owusu-Afriyie (Ebenezer) of Bedford, NS and Hannah Abenheimer of Toronto, ON; his siblings, Matthew of Star, Ruth Adams of West Virginia, US and David (Lynn) of Cardiff, Wales; his sister-in-law Pearl Anderson of Nanaimo, BC; and his grandchildren, Charlotte, Olivia and Kaeden. He is also survived by his cousins; nieces and nephews; and his many brothers and sisters-in-law.
