She was predeceased by: her parents, Neil D. McKinnon and Annie McKinnon (Tutty); and her siblings, John Daniel McKinnon (Mary Ann), James Robert MacKinnon (Marie), Marjorie Roston (Arno) and Josephine Buffett (Junior).

She is survived by: her husband John; her sons, Ron MacDonald (Patricia), Vince MacDonald and Robert MacDonald; her grandchildren, Kate MacDonald (Mike MacNeil), Tessa MacDonald (Evin LeBlanc) and Ryan MacDonald; her great grandchild Freya MacNeil; her stepdaughter Irene Lever (Robbie); her stepgranddaughter Louise Lever; and her brother William (Shirley). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, the An Cala Unit or the VON.
