He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Brown; and his brother Shane. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl MacNevin-Brown; his children, Treason Brown (Rachel), Curtis MacNevin (Stacey), Sydney, James MacNevin, Sherri Boudreau (Allan), Jenny Brown (Maria) and Brandy (James); and his siblings, Lisa Brown, Cathy Brown (Wayne), Nanaimo and Blair Brown (Gerardette). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
