He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael "Mick" Higgins and Mary "Sis" Higgins (MacPherson); his siblings, Margie and Melvin; his niece Donna; his parents-in-law, Chris and Maria Raptis; and his son-in-law Brian.
He is survived by: his wife Christina Higgins (Raptis); his children, Shawn Higgins, Kellie Turner (Jeff), Michael "Mickey" Higgins (Jill Mulvihill), Chris Kieley (Linda), Lisa Hanna (Ron), Angela Kieley (Donnie MacLennan) and Cynthia Kieley; his grandchildren, Harrison, Sharon (Kyle), Tarrah (Brandon), Johnathan, Seamus, Claire, Christina (Brad), Sophia and Joey; his great grandchildren, Niah, Hunter, Tristan, Luke and Edie; and his sister Betty MacDonald (Higgins). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for immediate family will be held at a later date with Covid-19 protocols in effect.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in John's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
