He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Matthews and Maude Matthews (Rouse); his grandson Jonathan MacInnis; his siblings, Geraldine MacFadgen (Arthur), Florence Ellis, Christene "Tena" Waters (Abbie), William "Billy" (Mae) and Earl Matthews (Nita); and his brother-in-law Wayne MacDonald (Glenda).
He is survived by: his wife Sadie (MacDonald); his children, Brenda Mercer (Brent), Elizabeth "Liza" MacInnis (Robert), Skye Glen and Michelle Chandler (Kevin) of Dawson Creek, BC; his granddaughter Candice (Chad); his great grandchildren, Callum and Taytum Jordon; his granddaughter Brittany (Robie); his great grandchild Sadie; his granddaughter Caitlin (Joey); his great grandchildren, Kailey and Peter; his grandson Jeff (Lindsay); his great grandchild Archie; his grandchildren, Landon (Fushia) and Sophie (Jason); his brothers, Gerald (Eileen) of Big Marsh and Calvin (Glenda) of Big Marsh; and his siblings-in-law, Donald (late Patsy), Kenny (Christel) and Jean Nock (Winston). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Johnny may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society, Victoria County Hospice Society, Parkinson's Foundation of Canada Maritime Region or toStewartdale Cemetery Fund.
