He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dan and Conradine Sampson; his sister Heather Cooke; his former wife Stella Sampson (Gaslard); and his nephew John Cooke.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Sampson (Bates); his daughters, Alicia Hussey (Liam) and Alana Sampson; his grandchildren, Eben, Piper and Albie; his stepdaughters, Shelley Lynk (Craig), Jennifer Skinner (Chris), Sara Beers (Jason) and Ashley Adams (Kevin); his stepgrandchildren, Bryan, Andrew, Isabelle, Ben, Max, Ellie and Jake; his siblings, Rosalind Setchell (Stewart), Marianne Heaslip (Brian), Francis Donovan and Billy Jessome; and his pet Cruz. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sydney Memorial Chapel (49 Welton St, Sydney, NS B1P5R3). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (1452 Kings Rd, Sydney River, NS B1S1E6).
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to a charity of your choice.
