He was predeceased by: his parents, John and Margaret; his daughter Tara Lynn Marie; his parents-in-law, Donald and Muriel Morrison; his siblings, Allister (Donna), George (Marguerite), Archibald, Norman (Patsy), Laura (AJ), Jessie (John Christie), Tena (Jim Munroe), Anna (Jim Wilson), Emiline (Carl Campbell) and Carola (Roderick MacDonald); his siblings-in-law, Leo Egan, Malcolm MacPherson and Lillian MacAskill; and his nieces and nephews, Patricia Wilson, Chrissie Clark, Florrie MacLeod, Paula DeMerchant, David Christie, Shawn MacAskill and Richard Nolan.
He is survived by: his wife Donelda (Morrison); his sons, John A. (Marisa), Donald K. (Carolyn) and Frank K. (Melissa); his grandchildren, Iain, Emma, Abigail, Molly, Alex and Sloan; his siblings, Kenny, Angus (Marion), Jane MacPherson and Barbara Egan; and his brother-in-law Roderick MacDonald. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
In honour of the efforts from both the Inverness and Baddeck hospital staff, the family asks that any donations be made in John's memory to the Inverness Hospital or the Victoria County Memorial Hospital/Hospice Baddeck.
