He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Desmond-Smith and Theresa Desmond-Smith (Proctor); his wife Audrey Mielke; his stepfather Jim Smith; his brothers, Albert and David; his nephews, Albert, Travis and Dale; his brothers-in-law, Garvan Herbert, Golburne Sheppard and George Farmer; and his friends, Roy, Katie Green and Marva 'Sport Mentis.
He is survived by: his sisters, Anne Herbert, Marie Margettie (Stan), Sydney and Muriel 'Puggie Farmer. He is also survived by friends in St. Thomas, Ontario, especially Donna, Larry and the Mentis family, who considered him their uncle and part of their family.
