She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Currie and Ada Currie; her close friend Walter; her granddaughter Jaelyn; and her sister Judee.

She is survived by: her close friend Paul; her brother Ralph (Deborah); her children, Pat (Karen), Laura (Gary), Pamela (Stephen) and Heather (Kevin); her grandchildren, Dawn Marie, Breigha, Kevin, Meghan, Kyle, Rodney, Emily, Noah and Ivey; her great grandchildren, Camden, Raelyn, Jayce, Tessa and Elliana; and the father of her children Allan (Heather).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debbie's name to the Cape Breton Cancer Center, Hospice Palliative Care or to any other charity of choice.
