He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Calder and Margaret Calder; his brothers, Alex and Bruce; and his father-in-law Roy Macleod.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia (MacLeod); his children, David of Canmore, AB, Andrew of Fort McMurray, AB and Kim Calder; his grandson Brandon; his siblings, Katherine Ravanello, Jean MacLean, Debbie Calder (John Haughn), Stewart (Janet) and Peter (Judy); his sister-in-law Bonita Calder; his mother-in-law Marion Macleod; and his siblings-in-law, Charlene MacPherson (late Danny), Ann Lea (Reid) and Alan Macleod (Debbie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carl's name to Tom MacNeil's Cancer Patient Care Fund or Caleb's Courage through the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, or to a charity of one's choice.
