Connie Rahey Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Connie Rahey (Sydney, Nova Scotia), born in Montréal, Québec, who passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her daughter Deebie Smuck (Barry); and her parents, Katherine Vasilakis (Nimchuk) and James Vasilakis. She is survived by: her sister Helen Hashem; her brother-in-law Joe Hashem; her aunt Annie O'Rourke; her daughter Catherine Rahey (Pierre-Yves Barbier); her sister Catherine Arsenault (Alex); her grandsons, Calvin Hann (Joanna), Christopher Abbass, Nicholas Abbass (Raquel), Manilia and Blair Abbass; her great grandchildren, CJ Hann (Hannah Reid), Valerie Hann (Bailey Stone), Anastasia Abbass and Xavier Abbass; her nieces, JoAnn Hashem (Jamie Parks), Sydney and Jocelyn St (Jason); her nephew Shaun Arsenault (Alicia Stevens); her cousin Connie; her nieces, Marcelina Shwery-Stanley and Beverly Rahey Haggett (Bruce); her godson Gabe Haggett (Sydney); and also Helen Ginter. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or charity of choice.
