He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Campbell and Cecilia Campbell (Burke); and his sister Loraine Brophy. He is survived by: his children, Dianne Mercer (Lloyd), Mike Campbell (Sarah) and Jason Campbell (Sherri); his grandchildren, Ian, Lisa, Laura, David, James, Aila, Madison and Mya; his great grandchildren, Callie, Jeremy, Nathan, Oliver and Sophie; his godson Bill Burke; his close friend Rita Campbell; and the mother of his children Sheri Jackson.
In leu of flowers, donations in memory of Alex, may be made to Holy Redeemer Cemetery Fund, or charity of one's choice.
