He was predeceased by: his parents, James Fortune and Mary Fortune (Chisholm); and his siblings, Francis, Thelma, Shirley, Joyce, John 'Red', Myles 'Milie', Linus 'Cap Wire', Raymond 'Ray' and Eddie 'Eggie'.

He is survived by: his sister Andrea (Ralph Degiobbi); and his close friend Dan MacMullin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
