He was predeceased by: his father Roy Johnstone; his brother-in-law Tom Burt; and his father-in-law Clayton Bungay. He is survived by: his mother Marion "Mamie" Johnstone (Mulley); his wife Susan Johnstone (Bungay); his sons, Benjamin Johnstone, Georges River, Jonathan Johnstone and Peter Johnstone; his siblings, Karen Weisner (Ernie) and Lloyd Johnstone (Elaine); his mother-in-law Dorothy Bungay; and his brother-in-law Stephen Bungay (Jacqueline). He is also survived by many cousins, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
