He was predeceased by: his parents, John Theriault and Sadie Theriault; and his siblings, Elizabeth, Hannah and Cyril.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine; his children, Valerie (Sheldon), Eric (Elaine), Ruby (Blaise), Richard (Danita), Leonard (Diana), Mark (Liz) and Evan (Melissa); and his sisters, Geraldine, Hilda, Cordella and Rosetta.

Donations in his memory can be given to the Palliative Care Society at Buchanan Memorial Hospital.
