He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jerome and Eileen Tompkins (Higgins) of Sydney Mines; his son Aidan Tompkins; his significant other Patricia Lawless; his brothers, Gerard (Joan) of Moncton, Keiren (Cynthia) of Moncton, Adrian (Mary) of Moncton, Myron (Lori Parenteau) of Moncton and Brendan (Luc Morin); his former wife Denise (Gillis); his uncles, Arthur and John MacLean; and his aunt Marguerite Higgins. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
No flowers by request, instead memorial donations can be made to St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund, The Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County, Northside/Harbourview Hospital Foundation or any charity of choice.
