He was predeceased by: his parent John Roderick; his brother John Roderick Jr.; his sister-in-law Coline Taylor; and also Jamie Taylor. He is survived by: his uncle Hugh Michael Taylor; his parent Rachel Anne Taylor (Edwards); his daughters, Rachel Anne and Alice; his significant other Yvonne Bryan; his sister-in-law Sharon (Duckie); his siblings, Brenda Green (Bernard), James (Vicky), Raymond (Donna), Evelyn Holland (Mike), Harry (Florence), Ann Marie O'Handley (Paul), Joe (Bernadette), Stuart (Adelaide), Brian (Brenda) and Raylene LeDrew (Wade Strowbridge); his friend Cecil Jackson; and also, MacLeod and Isabel Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

Donations in Hugh's memory may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit, Cape Breton regional Hospital, or a charity of one's choice.
