It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Payne (Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia), born in Point Aconi, Nova Scotia, who passed away on September 24, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Payne and Martha Payne; his wife Dolena Payne (MacKeigan); and his sisters, Sarah, Stella and Frances.

He is survived by: his pets, Mork, Mindy and Thumpy; his children, Philip Payne (Darlene), Darren Payne, Tena Payne, Randy Payne (Sheila), Angie Payne, Blayer Payne (Andrea) and Jamie Young; his grandchildren, Jarod, Logan, Brandon, David, Monica and Elliott; and his siblings, Alden, John, James "Sprick" and Phyllis. He is also survived by his six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the NS Heart and Stroke Foundation.
