He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Smith and Theresa Smith (Jessome); his parents-in-law, George and Rosella McGean (Matthews); and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis McGean, Georgina Graves and Sheldon McGean.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Smith (McGean); his daughters, Tracey McMullen (Shawn) and Kim Mulholland (Jon); his grandchildren, Clayton Smith (Kelly), Matthew Herridge (Brittney), Fort McMurray of Alberta, Celine McMullen, Janelle, Kiana and Jalyn Mulholland; his stepgrandchildren, Kyle and Shawna McMullen; his stepgreat-grandson Kamryn Jessome; his siblings, Francis Big Bras (Genesta), James Coxheath (Karen), Robert (Cathy), Joan Musbally (Nick), Point Edward (Sonya) and Brenda Marsh (Brian); and his siblings-in-law, Glenda Graves (McGean) and Roy Graves. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, visitation and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
