He was predeceased by: his parents, John David and Margaret "Margie" MacKinnon (Bonnar). He is survived by: his close friend Jeffrey; his wife Helen; his daughter Calista; his siblings, Flossy (Stevie), Duncan, Malcolm, Oliver (Delores) and Johnenna; and his parents-in-law, Paddy and Alice. He is also survived by his sister & brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and friends.
