He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Gardner and Reta Gardner (Ford); his wife Gilda; and his brothers, Thomas, Wilson, Brian and Clifford.
He is survived by: his children, Jody Fitzgerald (Kelley), Jason Cashin (Marie), John Cashin (Krystal), AJ, Zack, Jordan and Chase; and his siblings, Carl, Paul 'Freddie' and Judy Whalen (Dan) of Sydney Mines. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
