He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Burchell and Mildred Burchell; his stepmother Catherine Burchell; his siblings, Joyce Covey, Patsy Manuel, Ross, Clarence, Douglas and Jimmy; and his sister-in-law Anne Walsh.

He is survived by: his wife Christie; his children, David (Jennifer), Gary and Cathy (Stan); and his siblings, Victor and Alison Bowness. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
