He was predeceased by: his parents, William Forrest and Bertha Forrest (Leblanc); his sisters, Sandra Basso, Annie Mae Tremblett, Mary Penny, Sharon Forrest, Barbra Forrest and Brenda Lee Forrest; and his parents-in-law, Leroy and Clara Pyke.

He is survived by: his wife Kim (Pyke); his children, Alexander (Nancy) and Natasha (Richard); his grandsons, Andrew, Brady, Brayden and Austin; his siblings, Catherine Bradley, Maisie Weeks and Douglas Forrest (Tessie); and his in-laws, Leroy Pyke (Nancy), Joan Bond (Ernie), Brenda Foster (Tom) and Tracy Pyke.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Sydney Mines Fire Hall.
