He was predeceased by: his parents, Hector MacAdam and Elizabeth MacAdam; his siblings, John Alex, Harold, Joseph, Veronica and Clara; and his niece Susan.
He is survived by: his wife June MacAdam; his daughter Arlene Gillis (Mike); his grandson Justin; his great grandchild Beau; and his siblings, Roy, Lorraine and Margaret. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James can be made to the Cancer Patient Care Fund at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
