He was predeceased by: his father Allan Leighton of Sydney Forks; his parents-in-law, Albert and Joyce Hooper; his siblings-in-law, Kevin Quinlan and Donna Hooper; and his nephew Tyler Hooper.
He is survived by: his mother Iva Leighton (Ross); his wife Gail Leighton (Hooper); his pet Otis; his sister Wanda Quinlan; his brothers-in-law, Glenn Hooper (Betty-Lou) and Gary Hooper; and his nieces and nephews, Trevor, Jeffrey Quinlan, Khalil Abouhamad, Jarrett Smith, Selina Parnell and Tara Smith. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
