It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Arthur Curnew of Stellarton, Nova Scotia, born in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland, who passed away on January 21, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Curnew and Anne Curnew (Bourgeois); his former wife Doris (Haggart); his grandson Justin Myers; and his siblings, Kathleen Francis, Cecilia LaCosta, Ralph Curnew, Frank and Ronnie.
He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Dorren Curnew (Gillis); his children, Mary Myers (Joe) and Joey Curnew (Karen); his stepchildren, Michelle Walsh, Stephanie Walsh, Peter Walsh (Allison) and Marc Walsh (Rachel); and his siblings, Margaret Young of Corner Brook, N. L., Patrick Curnew of West Bay, N. L., Robert Curnew (Doris), Stephenville Crossing, Lawrence Curnew (Jeannie), Brendan Curnew of Lourdes, N. L. and Leo Curnew (Elizabeth). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild.
