He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Spears and Louise Spears (Hefferman); his grandson Michael Spears; and his siblings, Carl, Margaret, Della, Edna, Orphie and Betty.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Spears (Langille); and his children, William "Bill" Spears (Heather), Michael Spears (Linda), Lourdes, John Spears (Janice), Harold "Sandy" Spears (Janice), Trenton and Lisa Chapman (Troy). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA or the Salvation Army.
