She was predeceased by: her parents, James Dale and Lettisah Dale (Seaman); her husband Joe; her son Joey; and her siblings, Geralding Lewis, Lois MacKenzie, Isabelle Fisher, Eliza Priest, Jean Hale, Audrey Polson, Horace, Jerry Andrew, Douglas and Elroy.

She is survived by: her son-in-law George "Bugs" MacLeod; her children, Harlin (Sharelle) of Comox, BC, Stephen Coldbrook (Patsy), Annapolis Valley, Linda MacLeod (George) and Sharelle; her daughter-in-law Viola Price; and her grandchildren, Vincent, Tanya, Lori Ann, Tiffany, Ebbiny, Travis, Krista, Ashley, Neah, Brent, Simon, Jessica and Finley.

Donations in memory of Doris may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Nova Scotia SPCA, the VON, Canadian Red Cross, Christ Anglican Church, Stellarton or to a charity of one's choice.
