He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur MacKay and Josie MacKay (Davidson) of Stellarton; his siblings, Elda, Charlie, Lori and Linda; and his nephew Matthew.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy (Doucette); his sons, Steven of Stellarton and Justin (Robin) of Stellarton; his grandchildren, Bryleigh, Ethan, Kaden, Hayley and Isabella; and his sisters, Catherine Dalio (Len), Boston and Jennie Harb (Gary). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
