She was predeceased by: her parents, James Pettigrew and Florence Pettigrew; her husband Donald Canning; her son Fredric; her grandson Troy; her great grandchild Adam; and her siblings, Lloyd, Arthur, George, Ivy Bird, Viola Rector, Ethel Jewkes and Hazel Lusignan.
She is survived by: her daughter Florence Evelyn Backa (John) of Springhill, NS. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
