He was predeceased by: his parents, Elliott Tingley and Greta Tingley (Wilson); his wife Rhoda; his brother Kenneth; and his daughter Cheryl.

He is survived by: his siblings, Helen Foster (Ottawa) and Paul Tingley (Truro); his daughter Tanya Ryer (Ottawa); his granddaughter Brianna "Bri" Ryer (Bedford); and his great grandchildren, Emily and Tristan.
