It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Elizabeth Thorburne of Shelburne, Nova Scotia, who passed away on September 17, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Goodick and Bessie Goodick (Firth); her brother William "Bill" Goodick; her son Allan "Lou"; and her parents-in-law, Louis and Bertha.
She is survived by: her husband Ernest "Ernie"; her children, William "Bill" Thorburne (Merlyn) and Kimberley "Kim" Powley (Bill); her grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, Kaitlin and Matthew; her great grandchildren, Ivan, Emmett, Beauden and Virginia; and her aunt Ellen Nickerson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
