She was predeceased by: her parents, Beatrice Slate and Edward Slate; her husband Stanley Parnell; her granddaughter Nicole Foster; her siblings, Cecil, Hilda, Evelyn, Shirley and Jean; and her son Peter Townsend.
She is survived by: her daughter Annie (Raymond Mansfield) of Liverpool, N. S; her brother Frank Slate (Phyllis) of Shelburne, N. S; and her grandchildren, Cheyeanna Frail (Anthony), Stephen Foster Jr. (Jess Boone), Sheena Foster (Joseph Godfrey) and Ryan Foster (Michelle Dexter). She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchild.
