Marjorie Elizabeth Strang Obituary
84, Port Clyde, passed away September 25, 2017, in the Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. Born November 29, 1932, in Pembrooke, ON, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Stoodley) Benkhe. Marjorie was an avid quilter, crocheter, and knitter. She was a member of the Fireettes in Port Clyde for a number of years as well as a longtime member of the St. Matthew"s United Church, Port Clyde.
She loved to play golf with her golfing buddy, Shirley Holden. She loved her dogs, Nicky and Oliver as well as her cats. She is survived by her husband, Franklyn Strang; children, Leland Strang, Carolyn Strang, Leah Strang-Nickerson, Perry Kothlow, Paul Kothlow, Kenneth Kothlow, Glen Kothlow, Randy Kothlow, Keith Kothlow, Linda Cole, James Kothlow and their families; sisters, Betty Kuehl, Donna Benkhe Geoffrey White, Pat Benkhe-McGrath; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a few great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her children, William Kothlow, Deborah Davidson; siblings, Robert Benkhe, John Benkhe, and Beverley Gagne. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson"s Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Barrington. There will be a memorial service held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Port Clyde Cemetery or to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund.
