She was predeceased by: her parent Lester Allison; her husband Glenn; her stepmother Ester; her mother-in-law Elaine; and her friend Gloria.

She is survived by: her parent Lottie Allison; her children, Rhonda of Shelburne, Karen and Steven (Brittany); her grandchildren, Troy, Courtney, Cody, Jerrica, Tanner, Noah and Syndee; her great grandchildren, Amiah-Claire, Tiana, Izaac and Lucas; and her siblings, Elgin (Bonnie), Roger, Edgar (Faye), Jim (Verna), Norma West (Jim), Priscilla West of Iowa, Lil West of Shelburne, Brenda West (Roger), Liverpool West and Pam North West (Steven). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation, Victorian Order of Nurses or charity of choice.
