It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Esther Melanson of Saulnierville, Nova Scotia, born in Weymouth, Nova Scotia, who passed away on June 29, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father John Smith; her husband Elie Joseph Melanson of Saulnierville; and her siblings, Leonard Smith, Alice Gennette, Gloria Speichts and Linda Macneill.

She is survived by: her children, Paul Melanson (Leone), Gerald Melanson (Leanne), Therese Townsend (Larry) and Cecile McCaughey (Bill Blue); her grandchildren, Nicole (Robert), Colette (Billy), Travis, Ben, Zach and Dalton; her great grandchildren, Tyson, Julia and Ashton; and her siblings, Fred Smith, Roy Smith, Jim Smith, Ron Smith and Donna Smith.
