He was predeceased by: his parents, Reg Melanson and Ruby Melanson (Melanson); his daughter Kelsi; his in-laws, Grace and Gerard Saulnier; and his stepfather-in-law Daniel Saulnier.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his brother Robert; his sister-in-law Valerie; and his pet Harley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
