He was predeceased by: his parents, Denis Smith and Mabel Smith (Fournier); and his siblings, Thomas and Geraldine. He is survived by: his wife Jocelyn; his children, Donna Smith-Robichaud (Edouard) and Ian; and his grandchildren, Nadiya Smith and Stéphane Robichaud.
