He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Gillis and Jean Gillis (Goodwin); his former wife Cora Gillis (Rogers); his son Lee Gillis; and his brother Allison Gillis.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughters, Vicki Gillis (Michael Waram), Sue Browne (Jason), Angevine Lake and Jennifer Blier (Robert); his stepdaughters, Joann Patriquin (Todd), Roslin, Sonia Nix (Brad), Barb March, Tara Doucette and Fox Harbour; his grandchildren, Derek Gillis, Blair Gillis, Amber Gillis, Ally Blier, Liam Nix, Logan Nix, Corbyn Patriquin and Grayson Patriquin; his great grandchildren, Kendall, Shay Gillis, Lilah and Memphis Patriquin; and his siblings, Carol Spicer and Botsford Gillis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In honour of his late son Lee, Evans would want donations to be made to Lung NS-PEI or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
