She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Scanlan and Sue Scanlan; and her brother Tracy Scanlon. She is survived by: her husband Jim Demings; her children, Michelle Hansen-Hillier (Chris), Jaxon (Timberlea), Matt Hansen (Holly), Dakota and Kaylin (Pictou County); her stepdaughter Shawna Demings-Pollard (Stephen); her stepgrandsons, Josh and Noah; her stepson Bryan Demings (Emily); her stepgranddaughter Kaylee; and her sisters, Kellie Davey (Ken), Anita Bishop (Mark) and Linda Herst (Steve). She is also survived by nieces and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Canada Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
