She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edward and Minnie Florence Mays (Crawford-Cunningham); and her brothers, John Charles (Jack), Pathfinder Force and Peter Mays.

She is survived by: her children, Rod, John Cameron (Michelle Baylis) of Lawrencetown Beach, Roderick Grant of Porters Lake and Jane-Anne (Rob Kight) of Jacksonville, Florida; her grandchildren, Lindsay Eve (Chris Johnson) of Denver, CO, James Jonathan of Halifax, John Eric, Hayley Anne of Lawrencetown, Alexandra Nicole and Cameron Leigh (Kight) of Florida; and her great grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin (Fost) and Ella Jane (Johnson).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dawn's memory can be made to the Salvation Army.
