He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver John and Frances Hill (Balsor); his siblings, Oliver, Alex, Carl, Lavinia Roy, Dolena Hill, Eva Weldon, Rose Viner, Mildred Adams and Maxine Benjamin; and his grandson Michael.

He is survived by: his wife Jean (Martin); his sons, Peter (Shelley), Lakeville and James (Dave) of Victoria, BC; his brother Donald Hill (Freda); his siblings-in-law, George Roy and Elsie Hill; and his grandchildren, Karen Hill, Thomas Hill (Amanda) and Logan Hill (Melissa). He is also survived by great-grandchildren and three great-great, grandchildren.
