He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin MacKay and Edna (Marshall); his wife Claudia Esther MacKay (Levy); his siblings, David, George, Charles Mackay, William Saunders and Janet Vance; and his brother-in-law Reginald Turner.

He is survived by: his siblings, Eileen Turner, Evva Melvin (Ivan) and John Saunders (Alice). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
