It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold James Murphy of Port Morien, Nova Scotia, born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, who passed away on April 27, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Beatrice Celestina Murphy (Sharpe) of Port Morien; and his brother-in-law James Napier. He is survived by: his wife Torrey Langwith; his sons, James (Carmel MacLean) of St. Albans, NL, Donald (Jennifer Cole) of New Mills, NB and Robert (Rebecca Waters) of Rainy River, ON; his grandchildren, Christina (Gunther Hodder), Matthew (Corilee Hollett), DJ (Kaitlyn Clark), Jeremy (Alysha Bulman) and Brady (Mylene Aube); his great grandchild Henrik Murphy; and his siblings, Mary Napier, Dorothy Gouthro (Irvin), Kent (Joan) of Orangeville, ON and Robert (Margo) of Halifax, NS.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Donations in Harold's memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Pictou or St. Paul's Anglican Church, Port Morien.
