She was predeceased by: her son Glen Thomas Martel; her parents, Enos Sampson and Rosanne Sampson; her sister Mona Gracie; her nephews, Enos and Anthony; her niece Clarissa; her parents-in-law, Emma and Urban Martell; and her siblings-in-law, Evangeline (Jim), Delia, Edna (Walter), Sophie (Dan), Emeline (Percy), Jimmy Flanigan, Oswald, Flavian (Fern), Leonard and Pascal (Vicky).

She is survived by: her husband Harold Martel; her grandchildren, Johnathon (Maura), Glen (Angela), Leann, Ryan (Laura), Richard (Lauren), Tristan (Caylee), Dustin (Mary), Erica (Alexander), Danielle (Ty), Magen (Liam) and Jenna (Zack); her caregiver Harold Martel; her siblings, Irene Carter (Norman), Melvina Flanigan, Mary Claire Smith (David) and Leo Sampson; her siblings-in-law, Delina, Gladys and Andrew Gracie; and also Dave Munday. She is also survived by her 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, September 22nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Holy Guardian Angels Funeral Parlor Chapel. A funeral service was held on Monday, September 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Guardian Angel's Parish Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice in Mom's memory.
