It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Edward Brophy of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia, born in Mulgrave, Nova Scotia, who passed away on November 14, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Patrick and Ella Mae Brophy (Jellow); his wife Theresa Elizabeth (Delorey); his son Michael Joseph; his brother Francis; and his brothers-in-law, Michael, MacKinnon (Jean), Don Williams (Anne) and Joe Miles (Mary).
He is survived by: his children, Ellarose (Allan Huard), Dorraine (Kevin MacEachern), Dundee, James (Tammy McKay) and Debra (Paul Forgeron); his grandchildren, Warren (Julie Drisdelle), Thea (Craig Power), Nicole (Jeff MacPhee), Katie, Jade, James Michael (Courtney Cameron), Daniel (Jennifer Henley), Hunter Chisholm (Kelly) and Hannah; his siblings, Jean, Anne, Mary and Vincent (Brenda) of Mulgrave; and also Ron Chisholm.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church (28 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0). A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Lawrence Parish Cemetery (28 Church St, Mulgrave, NS B0E2G0).
