He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Burke and Annabelle Burke (Perrin); his brother Dan Willie MacDonald (Liz); and his nephew Freddie MacNeil. He is survived by: his siblings, Patsy MacNeil (late Malcolm), Jerry Burke (Peggy) and Catherine Cogswell (late Jimmie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces.
